About
Welcome to the breathtaking haven of Chalet Refuge de Lognan, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Chamonix, France. At an altitude of 2000 meters, this mountain hut offers not just a place to rest your weary body after a day on the slopes, but an immersive experience into the beauty of the Alps.
Guests reminisce about the majestic Glacier d'Argentiere, visible from the refuge, which adds a dramatic backdrop to every meal. The atmosphere here is both vibrant and cozy; reviews frequently highlight the combination of friendly service and delicious food that perfectly complements the stunning surroundings. As Coti S notes, the delightful service from Chris, paired with awe-inspiring glacier views, assures every visitor feels right at home.
Diners have raved about the flavorful offerings, particularly if you're a fan of hearty meat dishes, as the food here has been described as “excellent” by many. Personal favorites include the homemade Génépi, a local herbal liqueur that will make your dining experience even more special, as pointed out by Zev Silverman. It’s clear that the menu balances quality with the rustic charm of a mountain retreat, a highlight that certainly contributes to the overall vibe of the place.
For those who seek tranquility, the Chalet offers peaceful accommodations with individual rooms, steering away from traditional dormitory-style sleeping arrangements. This intimate setting allows you to truly relax and take in the serene environment, as noted by Rachel Stillwell, who found solace amidst cascading waterfalls and distant chamois.
Yet, be prepared for natural sounds; the wooden floors creak, and lively evenings can turn noisy, offering a true glimpse into the camaraderie of alpine life. If you’re aiming for a unique dining adventure, plan ahead—reservations can be made from the cable car station for a guaranteed spot in this alpine treasure.
In the heart of the slopes, where you can ski right to the door, Chalet Refuge de Lognan represents more than just a meal or a bed—it encapsulates the essence of mountain culture, where food, scenery, and unforgettable experiences come together harmoniously. Whether it's the surrounding heights of Mont Blanc or the delectable dishes warming your soul, this alpine getaway is an essential stop on your culinary journey through Chamonix.
“ Great mountain hut with nice view of the glacier. Friendly staff, tasty food and fast service. A bit expensive but what to expect at altitude of 2000m. ”
“ Atmospheric and fun refuge. It feels remote but you ski in and out from the main Grands Montets ski area. They can pick you up from the cable car station if you like. Or you walk or ski. Lovely views. Food is excellent, if you eat meat. It's noisy at night, for the wooden floors and creaky beds. Ventilation is terrible. ”
“ Our preferred place in Chamonix Mont-Blanc ! Staff is great, food is succulent and HOME MADE !!! Well done Zion, Manu, Coralie and Sira ! ”
“ Breathtaking view of the Glacier d'Argentiere from the refuge. Tranquil refuge with bedrooms rather than a dormitory. We spent some.magoc monets here on the terrace enjoying the waterfalls, distant chamois, and glacier creaking away in the blue icy massiveness. ”
“ We really loved this hut! The great atmosphere and service from Chris. The views to the glacier were amazing! Totally worth it staying there ”
“ I passed so many times by this chalet and never realized there is a refuge and a restaurant here. Really nice spot to drop by for a coffee and a cake. Better to take cash, though, as the coverage is spotty. ”
“ Oh I love and miss this spot. Make a reservation from the telecabine in the morning to ensure a place. The homemade Génépi is really good! Beautiful food. Beautiful people. Beautiful view of the chamonix valley. ”
“ Cute little mountain rustic restaurant quietly nestled in the middle of the mountain. Warm and local vibe with decent comfort foods and amazing hot chocolate ”
